Ashleigh started Physie at the age of six and loves the fact that she is doing Physie into her 30’s. 

 

Ashleigh became a BJP Physie teacher and judge several years ago, seeing this as a natural extension to her Physie career, while being able to share her love of physie with others.  

 

Ashleigh values the fact that in Physie you can learn and develop a strong sense of discipline and practise to accentuate your strengths as well as improve your weaknesses, working both individually and as part of a team. 

 

Ashleigh has experienced great success in her Physie career and has been awarded the highly coveted and contested title of "Grand Champion" at the Senior National Final at the Opera House in 2019, 2022 and 2023. Ashleigh has also won her section at the National finals in 2012 and 2016 and the State final in 2020, as well as being in many national winning teams. 

 

Outside of Physie, Ashleigh is a lawyer in a prominent Wollongong firm. Ashleigh's career success has led to several awards including the 2019 Illawarra Business Chamber Award for "Outstanding Young Employee of the Year”.

2nd Year to Open Seniors

Tarah is the owner of TJS Dance Academy and is excited to introduce Physical Culture to the TJS timetable as it adds so many benefits for her students - not to mention it is a sport they can continue for life. 

 

Tarah has been the National Champion of her age 7 times, most recently achieving the title of the 2023 National Champion in the Open Senior 28+ at the Opera House. Tarah has also been a part of many winning teams.

 

She has also trained in Performing Arts from the age of 5 in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Hip hop, Musical Theatre, Lyrical and Demi Character. She completed her HSC through distance education at the Brent Street Talent Development Academy, receiving a mark of 92 in her HSC Dance. In 2013 she completed her Certificate IV in full-time dance at Brent Street, and at 17 she was asked to be represented by the top agent in Sydney “Jeep Management”. Tarah also was accepted and is enrolled with the Royal Academy of Dance to complete her Certificate in Ballet Studies

 

Tarah has worked actively as a professional dancer for the past 8 years working for the top choreographers in Australia. As a performer her credits include dancing for artists such as: DUA LIPA, RICKY MARTIN, JESSIE J, KYLIE MINOGUE, JAMES ARTHUR, REDFOO, DANNI MINOGUE, JESSICA MAUBOY, VERA BLUE, SAMANTHA JADE, HILARY DUFF, CONRAD SEWELL, PEKING DUK, AND THE INXS SHOW. 

 

Tarah has been a dancer on The Voice Australia for the past 5 years, also performing regularly on X Factor, Australia’s Got Talent, SYTYCD Top 40, Dance Academy 1,2 and 3, Puberty Blues (featured role season 2 Mello Yello Model), and been a main dancer in James Arthur’s music video (You Deserve Better), Samantha Jade’s film clip (Sweet Talk), Redfoo’s music video (Let’s Get Ridiculous), Carmad’s music video (On Fire), and has performed at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
